It takes a lot of work and a lot of patience but you need a solid foundation (i.e. Do a lot of writing and build the 'intuition' necessary to become fluent. You could buy a Russian language textbook. I began learning Russian in an academic setting and my first year consisted of a lot of vocabulary building. How long have you been studying the language? If you're super new to it I would suggest what u/Talked10101 and u/ewwige have suggested: grammar exercises and flashcards.
